WIG WAM
Norways finest entertaining band WIG WAM, are busy writing and preparing their third studio album. A deal is already in place with Japan and WIG WAM are looking to exploit territories that they have so far not explored.
Their first release Hard to Be a Rock ‘N Roller grossed 45 000 units in Norway alone, spawning the number 1 hit single In My Dreams.
The second album Wigwamania grossed 10 000 units in Norway alone and saw the band tour with the likes of Alice Cooper, Gotthard, Slade and The Sweet across Scandinavia and Germany they also played the UK with Winger and Bonfire.
In February 2007 WIG WAM played their first concerts in Japan including the 1,000 seater Shibuya O-East, Tokyo and also performed at packed shows in Nagoya and Osaka. Their live performance was captured and released in the summer of 2007 on live CD and DVD. The DVD Made In Japan reached number 1 in the Norwegian Music DVD chart.
In Japan WIG WAM have so far shifted over 30 000 copies of their albums, and receiving standing ovations from Japanese fans and press, the sales have increased rapidly and WIG WAMs popularity in Japan is set to take off.
In October 2007 WIG WAM played at The Loud Park Festival in Japan with the likes of Marilyn Manson, Hanoi Rocks, Heaven & Hell, Tesla, Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy and Trivium.
WIG WAM break the rules when it comes to their fan base, during the summer of 2007 they played at a Theme Park in Norway performing two shows a day for three weeks, entitled The Rock ‘n Troll School, to thousands of children and families.
WIG WAM are a band that don’t have to be pigeon holed for their music or style that they play. This is evident from fans young and old.
